1. These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern, in accordance with Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Czech Civil Code, the rights and obligations arising from purchase contracts concluded through the Hidden Giraffe online store at www.hiddengiraffe.eu.
2. The seller is LAJF23 s.r.o., with its registered office at Pěčín 6, 517 57 Pěčín, Czech Republic, Company ID No. 09649930, VAT ID No. CZ09649930, registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Regional Court in Hradec Králové, Section C, Insert 48509 (the “Seller”).
3. The business premises and the place designated for store collection, returns and complaints are Hidden Giraffe, Hradešínská 2390/51, 101 00 Prague 10, Czech Republic. The contact email is hello@hiddengiraffe.cz and the telephone number is +420 773 566 202.
4. The Buyer may be a consumer or a business. Consumer-protection provisions apply only to a Buyer acting outside their business activity or independent professional occupation.
5. Any provisions expressly agreed in the purchase contract take precedence over these Terms.
6. Information about the goods, their principal characteristics and prices is shown with each product. Prices are stated in Czech crowns and include VAT and all mandatory charges unless expressly stated otherwise.
7. Delivery costs, any fee for the selected payment method and the total order price are displayed at checkout before the order is submitted.
8. The presentation of goods in the online store is informative. The Seller is not obliged to enter into a purchase contract, particularly where goods are unavailable, there is an obvious error in the price or description, or the order cannot lawfully be fulfilled.
9. For food and beverages, the product information and packaging are authoritative, particularly as regards ingredients, allergens, quantity, storage conditions, best-before date or use-by date.
10. The Buyer places goods in the basket, selects delivery and payment methods, enters the required details and checks the order and total price before submitting it.
11. By submitting the order using a button indicating an obligation to pay, the Buyer makes a binding order. An automatic acknowledgement only confirms receipt and does not itself constitute acceptance unless expressly stated otherwise.
12. The purchase contract is concluded when the Seller expressly accepts the order by email or confirms dispatch or readiness for collection. Before acceptance, the Seller may contact the Buyer to verify details or availability.
13. The contract is concluded in Czech or English according to the selected language version. The order and contractual data are retained for the period necessary to perform the contract and meet legal obligations; the Buyer receives them by email.
14. The Buyer is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the order details.
15. The Buyer may use only the payment methods displayed at checkout at that time. Depending on current availability, these may include online card payment processed by Stripe, cash on delivery, or payment upon store collection. A method not displayed at checkout is not available for that order.
16. Any fee for a payment method is shown before submission. For online payments, the Buyer follows the payment service provider’s instructions.
17. If payment has been made but the order is not accepted or cannot be fulfilled, the Seller will refund the amount received by the same method unless otherwise agreed.
18. The tax document will be sent electronically or supplied with the goods.
19. Goods are currently delivered only within the Czech Republic. The available delivery and collection methods are always displayed at checkout and may include collection from the business premises, delivery to a pickup point, or delivery to an address by an offered carrier.
20. The delivery price, any free-delivery threshold and the estimated delivery time are displayed before submission. Delivery times are indicative unless expressly agreed as binding.
21. The Buyer must accept the goods at the agreed place and time. Upon receipt, the Buyer should check the packaging; visible damage should be reported immediately to the carrier and the Seller.
22. If the Buyer fails to accept a parcel without justified reason, the Seller may claim reimbursement of reasonably incurred costs where permitted by law.
23. The risk of damage passes to a consumer upon receipt. If the consumer appoints a carrier not offered by the Seller, the risk passes upon handover to that carrier.
24. Alcoholic beverages may be ordered and received only by persons aged 18 or over. By submitting an order, the Buyer confirms that this condition is met.
25. The Seller, carrier or pickup-point staff may require proof of age using valid identification. If age cannot be reliably verified or the recipient is under 18, alcoholic goods will not be handed over.
26. The Buyer must ensure that an alcohol shipment is not received by a person under 18.
27. A consumer may withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving the goods. For one order delivered in parts, the period begins upon receipt of the final part.
28. Withdrawal may be sent to hello@hiddengiraffe.cz or in writing to Hidden Giraffe, Hradešínská 2390/51, 101 00 Prague 10, Czech Republic. It is sufficient to send the notice before the period expires. The consumer may use the model form but is not required to do so.
29. The consumer must send or hand over the goods no later than 14 days after withdrawal. The consumer bears the direct cost of return unless the Seller states otherwise.
30. The Seller will refund all amounts received, including the cost of the least expensive offered delivery method, within 14 days of withdrawal. The Seller may withhold the refund until the goods or evidence of dispatch have been received.
31. The consumer is responsible only for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and characteristics of the goods.
32. The right of withdrawal does not apply in statutory cases, particularly to rapidly perishable goods or goods with a short shelf life, goods made or modified to the consumer’s specifications, and sealed goods removed from their seal that cannot be returned for hygiene reasons. This exception does not automatically apply to every unopened bottle of wine or other durable product.
33. The Seller is liable to the consumer for goods being free from defects upon receipt and conforming to the agreed description, type, quantity, quality, functionality and other agreed features, as well as their usual purpose and characteristics reasonably expected by a consumer.
34. If a defect appears within one year of receipt, the goods are presumed to have been defective upon receipt unless incompatible with the nature of the goods or defect. The consumer may complain about a defect appearing within two years; for food and limited-life products, rights are assessed with regard to the nature of the goods, stated shelf life and storage conditions.
35. The consumer may request repair or replacement unless the chosen remedy is impossible or disproportionately costly. Subject to statutory conditions, the consumer may request a reasonable discount or withdraw from the contract.
36. Complaints may be submitted to hello@hiddengiraffe.cz or at Hidden Giraffe, Hradešínská 2390/51, 101 00 Prague 10. The Buyer should state the order number, describe the defect and requested remedy; photographs are recommended.
37. The Seller will issue confirmation of the complaint and settle it, including remedying the defect, within 30 days unless a longer period is agreed with the consumer.
38. Information about personal-data processing is provided in the separate Privacy Policy available on the website.
39. The Buyer agrees to the use of distance communication when concluding and performing the contract. Internet or telephone costs are borne by the Buyer at their provider’s standard rates.
40. Marketing communications are sent only in accordance with applicable law and the recipient may unsubscribe at any time.
41. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Prague 2, Company ID No. 00020869, https://adr.coi.cz, is competent for alternative resolution of consumer disputes arising from the purchase contract.
42. A consumer may first contact the Seller at hello@hiddengiraffe.cz; this does not affect the consumer’s right to approach the competent authority or court.
43. Legal relations are governed by Czech law. This does not deprive a consumer of protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of the country of their habitual residence where applicable.
44. If any provision is invalid or ineffective, the remaining provisions are unaffected. The Seller may amend these Terms; each order is governed by the version effective when it is submitted.
45. The Czech and English versions have the same purpose. In case of interpretative ambiguity, the Czech wording prevails, without prejudice to statutory consumer rights.
46. These Terms take effect on 1 September 2026.
